MBA Annual 2017 – Digital Mortgage and Regulatory Changes

Denver, Colo. was invaded by leaders from the mortgage space, all eager to learn more about what’s to come in 2018 and get a firsthand look at the latest technology innovations aimed at simplifying and optimizing processes and improving the borrower experience. Along with a trade show floor full of new product and service offerings, MBA Annual 2017 offered attendees the opportunity to sit in on an array of sessions tackling key topics such as HMDA, digital mortgage and regulatory changes not to mention a motivating session on leadership led by five-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning.

Within the various sessions and all across the expo hall, the term “Digital Mortgage” was a common theme during the four-day convention. Although the industry has been discussing digital mortgages for a while, this year’s MBA Annual showcased an increasing number of companies touting robust technology offerings aimed at helping the industry make digital mortgage a reality, such as our own Solex eClosing solution.

Much of the digital mortgage dialogue revolved around lenders evaluating the right technology solutions to enable a true end-to-end electronic mortgage process. Lenders have been increasingly incorporating front-end Point of Sale (POS) systems that make it easy for the consumer to begin the application process and receive quick pre-qualifications. But for the process to truly be digital, the conversations at MBA Annual turned to how lenders can leverage the right technology solutions to digitize back-end processes as well. With the integration between POS and LOS ensuring native digital data on the front end, solutions such as Docutech’s integrated eClosing platform are working to help lenders get on the pathway to a true digital mortgage.

As you prepare for 2018, mark your calendars now for the MBA Tech conference in Detroit April 15-18th as well as MBA Annual in Washington D.C., October 14-17th. Docutech will be at both events and we couldn’t be more excited to continue helping the industry realize a true digital mortgage process.
